<VV> Space Saver Spare for Early Model

I've got a space-saver spare in my '64 Monza, but I've have never had to use it.
As for SSSp's being "dangerous' on regular cars, I strongly disagree. I was originally suspicious of them, but an experience with one solved that.
We had one in our '79 Pontiac Grand Prix coupe out in California and suffered a flat of the right-front tire up in Big Bear. I installed the SSSp and proceeded down the grade toward Apple Valley, at first driving cautiously, then more confidently because I couldn't tell any difference in handling. We drove home to Westminster with absolutely no problem.  The next day I had the flat tire repaired and reinstalled.

Given there seems to be more folklore than fact, here's some informed articles on Space Saver spare tires:

I can't find it, but Car and Driver, well over 20 years ago, did skid pad tests with a couple of cars with 4 space saver donuts each. They were surprised how well they did, but then again, they were expecting (as was I) to have a really poor handling car. The handling was fine, the dry grip was not impressive!!
