Hi Charlie,

The rear lower control arms (that's what is in the photos, Corvairs don't have struts) and brackets look fine to me.  I assume you're talking about the bushings.  The bushings often look like that because of deterioration caused by leaking diff lube.  You may also want to replace the diff side seals and check the gear lube level.
