Go for it while you are still young. A lot of the money spent on restoration is labor so if you can do some of this you'll be way ahead. Certainly ask but also be sure you have the appropriate literature (assembly manuals, shop manuals, body manuals, etc.). Also being a member of the local and national Corvair clubs can be very helpful. And keep documents and photos of your ongoing project.
