<VV> 1965-1969 Corvair Sway Bar Bushing Question

Is there a trick to installing the sway bar bushings on 1965-1969 Corvair?

The ones that fit the lower end of the "hangers" are a pretty tight fit on
the straight parts, but pushing them along the bar around the corners seems
like a rough ride.

Is there a trick to this, or just tough it out?

Same for the upper bushings on the "hangers" since I can't seem to squeeze
them through - oil ~ or heat ~ them up to make them more pliable?

The ones I removed were OK, and if I had foreseen the difficulty, I probably
would have left them in, but they're gone now!

Any hints, or just tough it out and jostle them until they get there?

Thanks in advance!

Charlie
