<VV> Would oil "attack" the rubber bushings?

Greased them with a little 30W and it did the trick ~ slipped right on
around...

I wasn't sure if the oil would "attack" the rubber?

White grease.. The kind you use on door hinges and locks..typically. Well,
first, check bar, If all rough and corroded, clean it, sand it, repaint,
whatever. Let dry well, then grease up bushing or.....if you don't like
grease to wipe off (it will keep corrosion down), heat rubber bushings in
warm water...like kind of hot to the touch, but not really hot... they
normally expand a bit and get softer. Then push it on and around corners,
over hills and valleys, and ya got it!
