<VV> Car stops after 20 Mi

Smitty Sez  ; Thanks to all for their suggestions concerning the car that stops and the poorly functional brakes.  We may not get back to the car before after the holidays.  To those who asked about the way the car stops, it starts running poorly, immediately upon slowing, losing power and staggering, until it finally dies.  Will start again maybe an hour later and drive on home.
