Nothing is ever devoid of perspective bias (political, cultural, etc.)
by the observer...including reports...including science...including this
guy's book. Complete neutrality on anything is a fallacy. That doesn't
mean that this guy is correct and the report is wrong or was unduly
influenced or vice versa.
However my personal experiences from putting several hundred thousand
miles on Corvairs over 40 years indicates that the report is probably
closer to correct that this guy's book is.
Now if you want to talk about vehicles that are really scary to drive,
consider almost any front wheel drive car. The darn things just won't
turn in correctly on full throttle acceleration when on a clover leaf
entrance ramp while fighting for position on a crowded 70mph interstate
whereas the Corvair behaves very nicely and does exactly as it ought
(eg, perspective bias).
I wouldn't mind a more detailed report of the arguments presented
without supporting the guy by buying his book.
