It is a glue strip, like 3M in various thicknesses. It is black and auto 
paint shops carry it. May be called a windshield adhesive in strip form.
Remove old back light. Clean new backlight thoroughly. Use rubber spacing 
blocks on bottom  to get glass in center of opening all the way around so SS 
trim will fit on clips on posts.
Carefully apply glue strip. Make sure ends butt against each other.
With helper place glass on blocks , center and carefully, tilt glass forward 
to contact glue stris all around. Press glass down to make sure adhesion is 
present all the way around so no water leaks,
