<VV> Early Model Shifter

Was there a different shifter shafts for early models bench seat vs bucket 
seat? My shifter lays on my bench seat and looks like someone added piece to 
make it longer.
Smitty Says;  I think what you have there is the fitting that goes with the 
shift lever for a after market fast shifter to shorten up the shifter knob 
stroke.  Is the base bolted directly to the floor or is it on a spacer about 
an inch and a quarter high.?
