Thanks to VV, I am almost done in fixing up my 63 Spyder Convertible dash.
Now another item which has been bugging me, the problem of floppy sunvisors.
I tried tightening up the bracket that attaches them....and I tried the
bushings that they sell for the ends of the sun visor rods. But the darn
things simply rotate around the rod and continue to flop down. I'd like them
to stay up when the top is down..or for that matter, anytime I'm not using
them to actually block the sun. But short of taking the visor off of the
visor rod and gluing the rod and the visor together, I can't see any way to
keep them in place. Suggestions on this one would be welcome. I can keep the
rods fixed to the inboard clips by using press on plastic "bushings" but the
visors just rotate on the rods. need to fix the visor to the rod,

Smitty Says, Mike the visors have a sheet metal piece that runs along the
pivot side of the visor. Sort of like it is wrapped around the rod. Clamp
the rod in a vise (with padded jaws) and pull and twist of the visor to pull
it off the rod. Once it is off then use the padded jaw vise to slightly
crush the metal part inside. Don't go nuts. It is easier to crush it some
more than it is to spread it if you over do it. Worked for me
