I agree with Tim, the FF coolers are reasonably easy to come by.  If you want a 12 plate in your early instead, Nick Raeber modified one and shared photos with me:

FWIW, my take on it is that the 8 plate with side shields and modern oil should be fine for normal use.  An FF cooler is definitely an upgrade if you want more cooling, with the caveat that you actually have to check  and clean it once in a while.  3 plate coolers get tossed in favor of either of those options.  12 plates are fine, I would add the side shields, in part to get rid of the air leak around the top of the cooler.
