It is my understanding that GM disguised Corvair prototypes from Fisher Body and falsely badged them as Holdens to throw off any possible spy photographers lest they figure out that GM was developing a rear-engine vehicle for the domestic market.  So, technically, the Corvair engine and drive train were not tested in actual Holdens.  That early engine/drive train testing was carried out in a Porsche.

<over on hemmings news the short history of the austrailian made holden is shown in a short video. didn't GM test the new corvair engine and drivetrains in some of these cars. reason being was to hide this new setup while testing it?>
