The pressure would go out the dipstick long before it bothered a seal. Those seals have converter have fluid to or from the convertor to deal with which would be under pressure that is above the internal air pressure anyway. I'm sure someone here can comment on what internal pressure those seals have to deal with.

Could it be a plugged transmission vent? Pressure would build and force fluid past seals.

I have a question. What could possibly cause a pinion shaft seal to blow, again, allowing the proverbial tranny fluid to seep into the diff? I know the seal is blown again because the gear oil level on the axle dipstick ('64 diff installed in a '63 convertible) is slowly climbing up the dipstick. It is now about 1/4 inch above the full mark and has a slightly orange tint to it. The PG level slowly drops at the same time. This will now be the third pinion shaft seal that I've had to replace. The first one was the original, and the second one was installed incorrectly at the corvair ranch. The third one was later re-installed correctly at the corvair ranch. Some of my thoughts are an inferior seal could have been used, or maybe it wasn't installed properly either. But If it wasn't either of those, is there anything that could go on with the pinion shaft to cause trouble to eat seals? Since this is very frustrating, any thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated before I commence to replacing that infernal seal yet again. Thanx in advance.
