<VV> 1964 Hood weatherstrip channel steel?

Hi, My 1964 convertible hood weatherstrip channel needs steel. I could
fabricate it but I don't think it would turn out that great.  Is there a
common piece of steel that is close to the weatherstrip channel that I can
weld on? In some places the channel is gone. Clark's doesn't seem to have
this for hood. Does seem to have it for trunk.
