<VV> Gas guage

On a late model, at least, that wire is part of the main front to rear body harness. It just peels out in the wrapped harness with enough length for the connector to just push on. There is also a ground wire off the sender that has a screw connector to the lower body.

Early or Late?

In general, through the tunnel to the body harness, which connects to 
the instrument cluster. No direct connection to the fuse block.
