<VV> Changing C878 Power Glide gear shift o-ring. How to get the rod off?

Remember to carefully check the seating surface for the shaft "O" ring for damage or corrosion. I replaced the seal more than once and still had a leak. I used a cone shaped bit of oil soaked .600  wet or dry paper, to gently remove some corrosion. Tough place to see.  That solved the leak. Tip from Tim Colson.

That's the o-ring for the shift cable not the shaft.  Replace it too while you are in there.

Will a danco 3/8 x 1/4 x 1/18 o-ring work?
