<VV> Parking brake adjustment?

My parking brake lever takes a lot of travel to engage the brake. I would
like to adjust it. What/where is the 'forward check nut on the equalizer'?

There should be nuts on both sides  of the "U"  channel bracket   loosen the one  closest to the body approx. 1/2"  then adjust the rear....  then re-tighten the front..
