How very sad. As with a great many of us, I have several of his books on the Corvair, each a model of clarity and solid with most useful information.  

It's always sad to learn of the passing of stalwarts on this board. Whilst new fonts of wisdom will always arrive, those who are gone can never be replaced.

It hurt when I read that JR had gone ... I never met him, but he was a true gentleman when he sent his Corvair to me in England. I never met Bob Helt, either, but how I wish I had. Sincere condolences to the family of this special person.
