<VV> engine ID

If there are 6 digits after the block ID ("RY") that is probably the last 6 digits of the VIN of the original Corvair, its "owner/donor" car

 I have an engine I propose to sell, don't know where I got it from. It is a smog engine RY 1968 as all the top sheet metal is correct.  I do not understand the extra numbers on the block. 


  Also are the pistons in the '68 engine different?  See picture, Thanks.
