I just wanted to say thanks to all who chimed in about said adventure. But for those warning me against it, too late.

I am closing in on the final stages of the installation. And Smitty, the reason I decided to do it in the first place was simple - heat. Last year I installed a " '64 110 in a '60 block and cooling system (for the thermostat) with headers" engine in the convertible because it ran so great. The engine had previously resided in our '60 we nicknamed "Rusty". Unfortunately, Rusty died of terminal cancer. But since the engine ran so great I couldn't resist the swap. As for the heat aspect of things: I chose to use the '60 shrouds and gas heater. The extra holes in the lower shrouds for the headers and lack of exhaust manifolds made me choose against using the original heater. And since I had a complete gas heater set-up and a couple more for parts, I used that for a foundation. After completing the engine swap last spring, I took the old ragtop out for a spin on a rainy 45 degree day and dang near froze my butt off. Never again, I vowed.

I had Jeb at the corvair ranch go over it for me, so it's up to speed. The only drawback I've come across so far is that it turned out to be a lot more work than I figured on. But like I said, the end is in sight. I'll keep you posted.
