I'm glad youhad success, but that clip is a red herring! You DO NOT need 
to depress or pull on it to remove the wiper blade. I gave a link to the 
cheap tool in my previous reply:

See, no touching of the little clip.  Just apply tool and viola, the arm 
is off. If the arm is corroded in place, it will require some effort, 
but still no touching of that clip.
