<VV> Finding manual transmission oil locally?

I noticed when filling my boat outdrive unit that the Mercury Quicksilver gear oil was rated GL-4. I have not tried it in my car but someone may confirm that it is in fact OK to use in Corvair applications. I got it at Walmart. Steve GangiBranford, CT
