If putting pressure to the fuel system , unhook the fuel line at the pump input and put a hose on it to get it out of the engine compartment , feed it to a jug or something.
Suspect items are the sock in the tank on the sender , (remove by putting air towards the tank with the gas  cap off) or the rubber coupling hoses at either end of the steel fuel line leaking /weeping. Most fuel pump issues these days are bad leaks , even on new ones.
