 Sounds like the metal is rotating inside the rubber. That's not meant 
to happen - the movement should take place WITHIN the rubber, not 
between the two. Could it be that the hole in the bushings is too big? 
With repro parts, anything is possible.
Many people would reach for the WD40 to cure a squeak, but it 
evaporates & you'll have to repeat that every few days if not more.
My solution would be to get some proper bonding strength mastic and 
glue the bushings to the shaft (bolt it all up before the mastic sets!).
