This is like his water is cut off at the street and you guys are sending all 
over the house to see if the water works at each sink.

If there is no voltage at the hot lead to the switch, there isn't going to 
be voltage anywhere down stream.  With no voltage on the hot wire at the 
switch, the first thing I would do is go back to the fuse block and see if 
there is still voltage at the fuse.  If there is, the problem has to be at 
the fuse, a broken/disconnected wire, or one of the few bits between the 
fuse clip and where the wire is connected.

I wouldn't be surprised if a retest at the fuse shows no voltage, indicating 
the problem is the fuse, the connection at the clip on each end of the fuse, 
or somewhere upstream like one of those riveted connections that most of the 
fuse blocks have.

Check the plug on the resistor on the defrost duct..or that
