Around 10 years ago I bought a '65 that had those wheels on it.  They weren't right because no one at the time made lug nuts that would fit the wheels and standard thread studs.  You could install metric studs and use them.  I'm not sure if anyone makes the correct lug nuts now but the ones that fit the other aluminum wheels such as TransAm or Z-28 wheels don't fit.  The taper is different.

Smitty is going to be OK. He'll have that Corvair purring down the road soon.  While I'm here, has anyone ever put 82-88 S10  15X7 wheels on a late model Corvair?   Also I have a 61 Lakewood 500 3 speed for sale. Needs a total restoration.   803-225-0005.
