 According to the junkyard primer It must be a 61 because later years had a hole for the BU switch. The large fill plug side cover could have been changed somewhere along the line. Should also have drain plug that was not there in 64-65. If it's the super low first gear might be a good candidate for a 3.08 rear gear.Paul Fox

 Is there a way to ID  FC 4 speed without taking it off the differential?  This one is with HL differential , has large fill plug , no backup light switch hole .   It came out of a 63 coupe from Denver area.  We are putting a 3:27 unit in it with a car transmission.Regards, Tim Colson
