I'm cataloging my spare parts. Have a NOS "Rod Assy," tagged P.N.: 3819372; Gp. 16.157. Is this the Latch & Rod Assembly for the FC Side doors? Sold my van, years ago (with assy manual), and have nothing to compare to. Can send picture... pls use service at tvislandaire.com. Tks... Mike Mauro.

No.  This was long before the TRX thing came along.  It was on a
conventional rim.

You mean the famous Michelin TRX series? Came on Mustangs, Peugot, and
others. Rim size 315 to 415 mm. 220/55 VR 390 TRX used on Mustangs.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelin_TRX

Most vehicles at some point got new wheels for normal tires.....

Actually I think it was the British Mini Metro I was recalling that had
tires with metric diameters. Britain is the only country on the planet
where it is a criminal offence to trade in feet and inches or pounds and
ounces. It is all part of the zealous attempt to destroy our national
heritage and force Napoleonic measures on us, as happened to all the
countries he conquered. But Napoleon never conquered Britain, to the
chagrin of the rest of Europe, so they are making up for it now.

So SR is a speed rating, but on this tire the S is the speed rating and
the R denotes radial? I'm confused.

Ah, I see what you mean. Which raises an interesting question - in the
UK speed ratings are also given as SR, VR etc. But it might well be that
the R stands for radial and is not part of the speed rating. But then,
cross ply / bias ply tires never had speed ratings anyway!

I saved the mounting shims and special spacer when I took the drive train
out of my 1964 Spyder a few years ago. I am pretty sure I have not lost any.
There are 4 of the double bolt shims with total thickness of 5/16 th inch.
And there are 2 of the single bolt shims with total thickness of 1/8 th
inch. I assume they would not have been mixed with single shims on the
double bolts. Before I reinstall the shims I wondered if it was not unusual
to have about double the thickness of shims hanging on the double bolts as
will be hanging on the single bolt. I have the special spacer that goes on
the single bolt of course but that seems to be just compensating for the
shape of the cross member not the difference in total shim thickness on each
side.

Any comment appreciated.

Carl,Use a photo of a captive seatbelt anchor nut that you CAN see as a guide to its size.? Then drill two small holes on either side of the bolt hole and screw in small screws to keep the anchor nut from turning.? Thoroughly clean and lube the threads of the seat belt bolt and anchor nut before you install the bolt.? If you want to really impress CORSA and if you have a set of small taps you could tap the two small holes and install set screws--then write and article for the Communique.? That's a great car you have.
Good luck
