fall out of heads because they were too short.


Frankly, if the budget can stand it and you have a friendly machine shop
nearby, I'd consider removing the insert however whichway you can (or
have the shop do it) and have the head welded up and tapped proper.  No
more worries.

...you might wanna ask someone in a local VW buggy gang about where they
get their heads repaired.
