Or a balky carb that's sticking open.  The "blip the throttle" to clear 
the issue is telling.  Especially if the throttle is opened enough to 
crack the secondaries, many of which often will have a bad habit of 
occasionally sticking slightly open once the linkage gets to be a 
half-century old etc.   Or, it could simply be a linkage adjustment issue.
