All: Matt's observation is correct. I think if one wants to waste time,
the correct comparison is the Pinto vs the Vega.

The Corvair comparison would much more correctly be with the Ford Falcon and
the Plymouth Valent. Released in same time frame, the fall of 1959, for
the same purpose of countering the imports, mostly VW's and Renault
Dauphines.

Core question is do you want conventional, or something different from a US
manufacturer?

Historically Yours,

------------------------------

Bedside the obvious differences at time of manufacture 10 years, two
totally different cars designed as "economy cars ". Today Corvairs are
easier to restore [better support] , yet Pinto engines are cheaper to
rebuild.

Everything else, YOU have to decide!
