 Frank -
I suggest the ferrule unions for this application. Positive seal, easy to remove if needed, forever install.

But not stock!

 What year carburetors?

#1. replace the balance tubes. Not just check, use some new 5/16" rubber
fuel line to replace them. yes, 3/8" fits easier, but 5/16" really seals
if you get it on!

> Hello,I am asking all you seasoned Corvair Mechanics if you have ever had a Corvair that just won't idle.  You check everything and everything is good.  It will start; however, when you come to a stop it will not idle.  We have two Corvairs like this.  What do you check out when this happens to you?  Please number these suggestions so that I can make a good list in my newsletter.  Start with number 1 and think of as many things that you would check out as you can.  Example:  1.  Check if not out of gas.  2.  Check if out of oil.  3.  Check timing. 4.  Etc. Hope someone comes up with one that we might have overlooked. June BugWFCC Chronic Corvair
