Have you checked the distributor mechanical advance curve? As in, does
it drift around? Likewise, have you tried driving it with the vacuum
advance disconnected? I'm thinking maybe distributor issues... just
throwing it out there.
What do you mean by "tip-in"?
Between you and me, I don't really trust Pertronics stuff, seen too many
of them dead on peoples' garage shelves. Then again, there's hoards of
Corvair engines out there running the streets with the factory
points/coil ignition system and doing just fine.
