CORSA 2012: More report

Mike. The car show is no problem. I have let people sit in my car as well.
We are talking CONCOURS cars. Little different. Not just the idea of
fingerprints but think about belt buckles when people lean over the engine
compartment. We don't want the owners of these prestigious cars cringing
during the entire show do we? Brian today during the mini meeting we had
with the concours chair Jim Allen Sr, and Larry Claypool, along with some
board members discussed an idea to let the public walk through the concours
without getting too close to the cars and getting in the judges way. I think
it will work out great. I will let Brian discuss it with the group but
everyone seems to think it is a good idea. I don't want to sound to CORSA
but remember this is a CORSA sanctioned event. We can't COMPLETELY ignore
the current members who have supported CORSA for years. On the opposite side
is the potential membership. There has to be some compromise to accommodate
BOTH groups. We continue to need the existing members to help us draw in the
potential. It is a two way street. During the discussions this morning I
believe we can successfully accomplish BOTH. Kudos to the folks in Denver
for showing us what they went through and how they overcame some of the
obstacles. I had a great deal of fun and hope we can ALL have fun and enjoy
2012.
Jason

I'm always concerned about cars getting damsged during shows but I find it
doesn't happen often and it is usually at multi brand open shows where a lot
of non car peple attend. At our councours there will be the owners sitting
near their Corvairs and I'm sure watching over them so I don't think finger
prints etc will be a problem. If we can get people to come and look they
may get interested in Corvairs.
