CORSA 2012: Trophies & Special Awards

Here's a wrap up of the trophies and special awards we'll need for the convention.  In addition to an explanation of each, I included what our requirements are.
1. Long Distance Award: Larry Claypool of CORSA figures out the winner.  We need to buy a $100 gas card from a nation wide gas company.  The award is given at the Saturday banquet.
2. Hard Luck Award:  Another one that Larry Claypool figures out.  he provides a humorous trophy.  We need to get a $100 Gift Certificate from Clark's.  Don't contact Clark's .  Work through Dan Schmidt who is the Indoor Vendor guy.
3. Mitchell Award: Given for the Best of Show in the Concours.  It needs to be a special trophy not the standard wooden one we are suing for most of the other awards.  Ken Shiftner will provide the winner's information right after the conclusion of the Concours.  The award is given out at the Saturday banquet.
4. Yenko Award: Given fro the Fast Time of Day in the autocross. John Egerton/Ray Zabinski will provide the winner's information at the end of the autocross.  The award will be given at the Clam Bake on Thursday evening.
5.Cole Award: Given for best overall performance in autocross, rally and concours.  Cole Committee does tallying.  Winner's name is inscribed in permanent trophy.  We have no action.
6.Model Cars:  Tim Schwartz is obtaining custom trophies (prototype shown at last meeting.). John T. and Tim will need to coordinate to get dash plaques mounted and winner's information metal plates made and affixed to the trophies. Awards given out at Ice Cream Social.
7. Car Display:  Bill Cohen is obtaining humorous trophy plaques.  Winners' names will not be affixed to this awards.  Awards given Saturday afternoon at end of car display.
8.Concours:  Any entrant that scores over 85 points--almost everybody--gets an awards.  There are three levels; bronze, silver and gold.  We will use the standard wooden plaques with dash plaque for these awards. (otherwise, we'll go broke!)  Trophies need dash plaques and meta plaques with winners information. Ken Shiftner will provide data after end of concours.  Potential exists to e-mail data for all winners' information metal plaques to engraver.  Ken has details.  Awards to be given at Saturday banquet.
9: Autocross:  The standard wooden plaque will be used with dash plaque and winner's information metal plaque attached.  John Egerton/Ray Zabinski will provide winners' information at conclusion of autocross.  Awards given at Clam Bake  on Thursday evening.
10: Rally:  Same as autocross except that Bob Scheidel is responsible for providing winners' information.  Awards given at Ice Cream social on Friday evening.
11.  Valve Cover Races:  Powder Coated valve covers will be used.  Brian O'Neill is providing  coated valve covers.  After receipt of powder coated valve covers; Brian will finalize design.  Wayne Cox will provide winners' information. Valve Cover races are now scheduled for Saturday due to space and time constraints.  Awards given out at Saturday banquet so there will not be time to have winners' information plates made.  
NOTE TO ALL EVENT PERSONNEL:  it is imperative that finalize the classes and awards fro your event.  Provide me the details as soon as possible.  After review I'll pass to John T. If we fail to give him as much time as possible to prepare before the convention we will have a disaster on our hands.  He has possibly the hardest and most challenging job of all of us.  Let's help him and thereby make the convention a success.
