[FC] Trailer for FC...

???? Keep in mind that you can pull about 3,000 lbs with an FC reasonably comfortable. Just keep in mind the weight that you want to pull, I forget, manual or auto on your FC? If it is an auto you will want to put the largest trans cooler you can where the original fits.? The reason I say this is, many of you remember our Ole Blue, we pulled a very heavy trailer with parts all over the country, we had more trouble with the trailer than we did the FC! The reason we got the hard luck award in Atlanta that year was because the trailer broke, more than once but we pressed on regardless. Anyway just keep in mind that 3,000 is the outside number for total weight that you want to add to the FC. OH, we did ALL of our travels with the FC drum brakes and none on the trailer, only one time in the mountains did I ever fade the brakes and that was my own fault for riding them and not paying attention to the road.

??? If you decide to pull any kind of weight, you will become an 18 wheeler. I mean that in the terms that your acceleration will be non-existent and your braking time will be lengthened. If you do this and know the limitations then you can be safe.

?? FYI, I had 18 wheelers out accelerate me from a stop light!

Subject: [FC] Trailer for FC...

Hello folks:

Just sending out an all-call as I am in the market for a vintage camping trailer
to pull with my FCs...specifically a 1958-1963 Scotty Serro silver trailer.
These are single axle, lightweight, and silver (obviously) which will match any
vehicle color. I grew up camping in Airstreams, but those go way beyond our
budget at the time!

Some examples...

If you ever see one of these small Scotty's along the road, in your
neighborhood, if your neighbor has one sitting in his back yard, barn or garage,
and they appear to be in decent shape, please let me know. I am willing to put
some work into one of these.

I thought with the far-reaching geographical nature of this group might aid in
this search..

Thanks! Ben
