Andrew, there is no meaningful difference in FC front suspensions
throughout the entire production run. with the sole exception of how
the main suspension crossmember interfaces with the gearshift.

If your truck is an automatic, everything will swap with no problem.

If your truck has a manual transmission, the 1961 through midyear
1963 gearshift linkage mounts to a bracket on the main suspension
crossmember. For midyear 1963 and up, the manual transmission no
longer mounted to the crossmember.

That "notch" you noticed in the top of the 1964 main crossmember (an
indentation, really) is to allow better clearance for the
through-the-tank 2nd design manual transmission gearshift.
