[FC] Tire question

I'd call a place called the BBB. After all, the mechanic is supposed to be
the professional know his business. But if he's a prick about it I'd call
even faster.

Yes he should have, or should have known, to have the rear suspension
realigned.

No you should not have paid for the alignment because you paid for it in the
initial maintenance visit.

Yes he should spring for a pair of tires -only- if they were new or
indiscernably worn from new. You'd have a hard time convincing anyone
because of "betterment."

And Yes I'd find a new mechanic pronto.

Just sayin'......

Hope you find some relief from all this, and I'm glad you didn't have a
catastrophe because of it.

PS: YES I think it's irresponsible for the mechanic to put the worn out
tires on the front. Was he thinking you wouldn't notice? I know it's the
tire store's thinking these days(replete with videos and interviews of
"experts") that the good tires go on back so you don't fishtail. Having
grown up in the snowbelt and done my share of winter driving, if I'm only
buying a pair of tires I will always them put on the front. Unless my rear
wheels are doing the steering. You want the best tires where you have the
most control, the steering. No "expert" will ever convince me otherwise.
What good will traction do you when you can't steer clear of the ditch?
