that is normal for internal regulated alternator , unless you run the B+ 
wire from 2 wire terminal back to battery , it needs to see a slight 
resistance (length of wire as in cars the alts came on ) to function correctly. you 
can also add resistance across the bulb to achieve this (values escape me , i 
am not  near my notes/ books). 
i just live with it , goose it once when starting, and carry on.
I went to the trouble of making it correct on my 64 coupe.
