All:

I knew about the tire pressures being raised and the coasting, and the slow speeds, but disconnecting or modifying the carbs are new to me. That might not violate the rules, but it is not in keeping with the spirit of the event: to squeeze as much mileage out of a Corvair as you can. Out of the norm mods should not be allowed. Your car should be run as if you are using it as a daily driver. Maybe these guys disconnect carbs on their daily drivers, who knows?
