Looking at that threaded hole it appears that the two halves may not line up well. This may not allow for a bolt to go all the way through. When looking at it I'm not sure that it is threaded any longer. Is it necessary to go through or would it just screw into the one side?  If it only goes in one side and it has no thread is this a proper place for a helicoil?
