Chris I forgot to say welcome to PPCC and ownership of your Corvair.
I also realized I gave you numbers for the 1961-63 4spd. If you have a 64-5 then the design was changed in several places. The countergear shaft rollers still count 4 rows of 23. Clutch gear is 1 row of 34 and 1 row of 38.
Most of these cars have been changed through the years but I am still amazed at the swapping on some parts. Be certain to id years etc.
It appears to me the car is new to you, do you mind offering the previous owners names?
Steve

I'm looking forward to meeting all of you- but here is the important stuff: I'm working on a1963 Spyder! I need to replace the 96 roller bearings in the transmission... armed with the shop mamual, I'm diving in this weekend. Anybody have any tips for working on the 4 speed?
