[SCG] ASCE

Sending just to the SCG list with a cc to the board.

The Annual Stock Corvair Event (ASCE) IS a special interest group's event, A
SCG event.  The intent was/is to hold this at the CORSA convention.  Bill,
himself, stated that the ASCE was planned not to compete in any way wiht any
of the established events.  Does that include the other meetings and tech
sessions as well as the big ones <Rally, econo-run, Auto-cross, and
Concours/Car Display>?   Please don't suggest doing it during the autocross,
the stock drivers are expected to work the course the same as the racers
worked the course for the stock drivers.  Besides, I want to attend, and I
won't be driving a "stock" class car.

The Stock Corvair Group (SCG)  meeting place needs to be outside.  OK .  Is
one and half hours not enough?  How much time is needed?  It is not
specified in the SCG's ASCE's policy document.  The time slot is late
afternoon 3:30-5:00pm if it lasts long, OK, it lasts long, so what?  my
local chapter meetings almost never fits in the stated 2 hour time frame.
Some of us may need/want to attend whatever is happening at 5:00, others
will stick around and socialize in the parking lot.

Back to Bill,   hold the ASCE starting at 4:00 on whatever day it is.  Let
it run long if interest is there.  Expect it to run long.   Bring some
orange cone and a banner, so those who miss the short indoor meeting inside
<from 3:30 to 4:00, I think officers need to be elected, right?> know where
to go.  Also a sign for the meeting door <like at Portland, that was good>

Life is short, so is the convention.  Lets have fun.
