[V8Vairs] Engine Covers

ALL,
One of the neatest installations I have seen was done by Mike
Harrison of Gaithersburg/Damascus MD. He made a light weight frame-probably
aluminum about 2" thick or so-and filled it with either foam or hard foam
panels that were the right thickness and cut to fit. He faced at least the
inside as I recall with sheet metal-presume aluminum but it has been years.
The outside he carpeted. Very professional and easy to disassemble. I
suspect he will be at BR although he has been having eye problems and
doesn't see as well as he used to and doubt if he will drive.

BTW, his crown conversion was very nice.

I am in same boat as u are as to what to use for a cover. Fiberglass gets
real heavy fast as would even thin steel. I was thinking of using a frame
of square alum tubing with aluminum foil covered foam panels with a type
of to be selected ceramic insulation. The panels would be covered with
some carbon fibre vinyl. Like u, otheer suggestions welcomed.
