[V8Vairs] Front-mid-engine questions

That makes sense to use the original G body floor in the front V8
conversion, especially with the hump etc already there. One of the guys is
doing a mid-engine Subaru and has installed the floor pan and dash - maybe
the firewall of the donor Subaru into the Corvair body.

The inside of rocker panel slides down over the outside of the g-body frame.
So the frame is in behind it. We cut the Corvair floor out and throw it away
in favour of welding in the g-body floor and firewall with the hump in the
middle.

When you mount a Corvair body on a frame, is it "channeled"? That is, do you
put longitudinal slots in floor pan and get the car body down lower or do
you place it on top of the frame?
