[V8Vairs] Differential Question

Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has any feedback on turning the 
differential around 180 degrees from its stock location and then flipping it upside down 
for use in a midengine set up?  It seems if the engine turned counter 
clockwise, like our beloved Corvair engine does, the pinion and ring gear would remain 
in the correct orientation.  Looking for some comments before I go blindly 
down the path of no return, (cutting a hole in the backseat.)
