[V8Vairs] Transmissions and gearsets

Hello all:  In reference to Seth's remarks about the 'torque limited'
small pinion gear with the 4.11 to 1 r/p, Colburns used the short
gears for several years in the slalom car with 383 stroker and
B&M blower before finally splitting the pinion gear from the
shaft.   I am surprised it lasted as long as it did.  They now have
a 3.08 to 1 r/p in the car, ran it all this year.

In a Kelmark type installation it is difficult to predict what will
fail first, my guess would be the input shaft however.
