I'm beginning the installation of a 215 V8 into my '66. The motor will be in
the stock (rear) location. Anybody have a trick solution for the heater?
If it's practical, I'd like to retain the stock heater ducting and controls.
Perhaps a "hot box" from a (?) installed in the stock blower location above
the transaxle? Thoughts? Thanks in advance, Craig Nicol

Craig - I pitched the same Idea for my V6 install out to VV and Fastvairs a
couple of years - Okay 7or 8 years ago. The experienced folks said the heat
that is fed into the Corvair heater by the stock Corvair heads is really hot -
as we know. The 220 temp (max, you hope) through the heater core of the V8
(or my V6) would be pretty cool by the time it reached your feet or windshield.
You might want to look for a heater core that would fit under the dash.
Someone suggested an early Mustang core. Also check with the hotrod builders.
Maybe you could put some type of long, skinny core into the stock long heater
duct from the rear to the front, in the tunnel. Now that would be trick. It
should work with the stock controls, except, maybe the rear seat foot outlet.
Not too sure how that would work.
