It's the astronomer. Someone evidently interpreted "Dr. Sagan" as medical
doctor.
     The address in the book is in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and that is,
indeed, where Sagan was in 1964 (Harvard). He moved to Cornell in 1968.

Hmm.  Are you sure this is the Carl Sagan we know - the astronomer?  The
paper shows the car owned by "Carl Sagan, MD", but the famous Dr. Carl Sagan
had a PhD. in astronomy and astrophysics.  It might be a typo, I suppose.
