Well, Corvairs are one of the easiest cars to winterize.  Run it a good long 
time (preferably driven); long enough to get it fully warmed up (so the oil is 
warm and any condensation is dried out of the muffler and crankcase). Change 
the oil and filter, disconnect the battery cables, and that's about that. 
About every two months, put an automatic battery charger on it at a low rate for a 
couple of hours and check for low tires.  That's all I have ever done, here 
80 miles from the Canadian border, just west of the Rockies. (It gets pretty 
cold here too!)

this is the first year that my vair is complete enough to be concerned about 
keeping it locked up in the garage all winter. wanting to know if there are 
any safe guards i need to take with motor,  tranny, etc. thru out the cold 
new 
england winter.
